Probably the most iconic restaurant on the island of Formentera, Moli De Sal is an former salt mill which used to belong to the island’s salt industry. Well preserved, the mill was recently renovated; being converted into a beautiful seafood restaurant. Its tall white tower is easily recognisable from practically anywhere in the northern part of the little island and together with its beautiful lighting, is wonderfully inviting from a far.

This privileged restaurant serves some of the best seafood on the island within a picturesque environment offering stunning panoramic views of the west area of the island’s beloved Cavall d’en Borras beach.

The food which Moli de Sal offers is simply divine; offering a variety of different dishes, ranging from succulent meats and tender flakey fish dishes, to perfectly steamed vegetables, beautifully baked breads and tasty desserts. The restaurant’s typical Formenteran cuisines consists of fabulous stews and rice dishes, with guest favourites being their range of paellas. Seafood, meat filled and vegetable loaded rice dishes to share are cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour and goodness. The restaurant’s stew dishes are also delicious. Sumptuous seafood and tender meaty chunks combined with the natural flavours of delectable vegetables and seasoned with locally sourced spices and salts truly tickle the taste buds and offer guests a culinary experience they’ll never forget.

Alongside the restaurant, you’ll find a small beach bar, which serves the most fabulous cocktails and spirits. The bar also serves thirst quenching, freshly pressed juices and other soft drinks. The restauran’t terrace is perfect to retire to after meals in the evening. Enjoy deluxe coffees and other hot drinks as you watch the night sky turn black.

The small beach which lies directly next to Moli De Sal is perfect for children to play on whilst adults enjoy the bar’s services. The beach is child friendly and perfectly safe and can be seen from the restaurant. The restaurant also boasts fabulous views over Playa de Illetas, Formentera’s other famous beach and La Savina Port; providing one of the most beautiful sunsets on the island which is an absolute delight for the eyes.

Moli de Sal also offers a pick-up service for yacht owners. Its small pier plays home to those who occupy the ocean and cruise the waves by boat.

The atmosphere at Moli de Sal is truly wonderful. The turquoise sea can be seen from the restaurant in the day time and in the evening, watch as the sun goes down and turns the sky into a rainbow of sultry colours.
